The Easter holidays saw the long-awaited return of the Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust Soccer Schools and we were delighted to welcome back many of our participants to our High Wycombe and Beaconsfield courses.
Despite a bit of cold weather over the first few days, we had an amazing start to our first week back as we were joined by 108 children over the 9 days of soccer school delivery, and it was clear to see that the children had missed their football!
The groups, which were split into age appropriate COVID safe age group bubbles, were put through their paces with a variety of sessions covering Ball Mastery, Dribbling, Passing, Shooting & lots of Small Sided Games throughout the 2 weeks.
Andy Homent, WWSET Activity Programme Manager, said “It’s been a long time coming and it’s a great feeling being able to welcome back lots of our participants to our sessions. We’ve been just as desperate to get back out on the grass as the children have. So, it was great to see smiles on both the players and staff’s faces. We even had a visit from Chairboys mascot Bodger who had equally been missing his football!”
