Warm Hub

Youth Club

“Wycombe Wanderers Foundation together with Wycombe Wanderers FC and supported by Buckinghamshire Council & club partner Dreams were thrilled to have been able to provide our Warm Hub provision for over 65’s from our local community here at Adam’s Park.

Running twice a week between January & March the Hub was accessible to all over 65’s and a +1, with everybody receiving a professionally cooked meal from Will Shaw and his team.

The Hub:

  • Provided 920 meals.
  • Catered for 130+ guests.
  • Over 300+ volunteer hours.
  • 24 evenings open.

Luke Godfrey, Head of Health & Inclusion at the Foundation, said: “Being able to deliver such an impactful provision during a difficult time for many was extremely fulfilling and I am proud of the hard work everyone involved put into it to make sure it was a success. The food was great and excellently cooked by Will and his team, so to be able to add the social side and support people to meet new and old friends whilst at the Hub was very pleasing. A thank you to the club for allowing us to use a welcoming space within the stadium, the Ex-Players Association for their continuous support and the team of volunteers who attended each week!”.

We’re delighted to share with you some of the testimonials from our Warm Hub participants below…

“We always looked forward to attending each Thursday. We have met several new people and rekindled a long term friendship, so a very worth while thing. The atmosphere was always friendly! The food was amazing and the Wanderers team were really nice, chatty and helpful. We were sad it has finished but would like to be informed if anything else was planned. George has been a Wanderers fan for over 60 years and enjoyed being at the club! Thank you everyone for making a cold dark winter more bearable.”

“Thank you for a very warm welcome, lovely company and some very good evenings, hopefully we will see more of these events”

“I attended as a volunteer. I saw and heard first hand the positive impact the warm hub had on all those who attended. It provided a great opportunity for social interaction and prevented isolation, helping combat feelings of depression and loneliness.”

“We both had a lovely time and was sorry when it finished but we look forward to it starting again hopefully. Would like to say a big thank you to all at the foundation for making us feel so welcome.”

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our evenings and appreciate all the hard work that has gone into it. The food and hospitality has been second to none. Everyone has been amazing.”
