Welcome Our New WWSET Apprentices

Over the past month, our four new apprentices: Shaun O’Hagan, Frankie Day, Max Alcock and Alfie Walker have joined the Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust’s (WWSET) Sports Participation team where they will be delivering our variety of courses to the local community.

Our new apprentices will be completing a Level 2 Community Activator apprenticeship that is run by Sports Structures. This year-long apprenticeship will allow them to grow as coaches and become valuable coaches not only to WWSET but to the local community.

They’ve settled in superbly so far, and we are looking forward to seeing how they progress and develop as the apprenticeship goes on.

Max Alcock

Max currently has his Level 1 Football Coaching qualification and is looking to be doing his Level 2 in the not too distant future. Before becoming part of the WWSET Team Max was working as a casual coach for other coaching organisations in and around Wycombe for roughly a year and a half and has also been coaching local football clubs in the local area as well. His aims for the future include coaching at an elite level and at some point being able to have the chance to coach abroad at that elite level also. Other hobbies Max likes to do include being around mates and is also follows various other sports such as tennis, basketball and MMA. Max can’t wait to get this first year under his belt and is looking forward to the future!

Shaun O’Hagan

Shaun O’Hagan joined the WWSET team in July 2021 as an Apprentice to learn from Higher qualified coaches to hopefully gain more experience and learn new skills and games to become a successful young coach after this apprenticeship year. Shaun is a really passionate football fan and will get the kids fully motivated and engaged within all the sessions across the year. He has always got a funny side that will make the kids laugh. He has no doubt the kids will have so much fun with Shaun.

Frankie Day

Frankie is our WWSET apprentice coach. Her role is to lead and assist coaching sessions. Frankie has completed her level 1 coaching badge, She has played football for many years and has a great passion for the sport. I’ve just played for Wycombe Wanderers and came first in the county cup. My other hobbies include fishing, as it’s a great way to relax but still do something I love. I’m looking forward to getting to know the role and learn and develop new skills that  I can hopefully take with me to use in the future.

Alfie Walker

Alfie is an apprentice coach, who joined the WWSET team in July 2021. Since joining, Alfie has worked in a number of schools. He delivers our holiday camps providing fun, engaging days of football. Alfie also works within WWSET’s Elite Development Academy where he passes his knowledge onto the players. Outside work Alfie enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves playing football with mates.

The whole team at WWSET look forward to watching the development of these four, and wish them every success in their time with us.
