Join Us at the Warm Hub: A Winter Lifeline for High Wycombe’s Older Residents
Are you an older adult in High Wycombe looking for a warm, welcoming place to beat the winter chill? Or perhaps you know someone who could use a little extra support this season? The Wycombe Wanderers Foundation warmly invites you to the Warm Hub, a safe space designed to help our community thrive during the colder months.
After a hugely successful pilot last year, the Warm Hub is back—bigger and better! Whether you’re looking for a hot meal, new friendships, or just a few hours of comfort and connection, our sessions are here to make your winter a little brighter.
A huge thanks goes out to our funder, Buckinghamshire Council’s Helping Hands campaign, who have made this project happen. We also want to give huge thank you to our supporters at High Wycombe’s Community Board.
What to Expect at the Warm Hub
Each session is designed to offer more than just a warm space. Here’s what you can look forward to:
· A Delicious Hot Meal: Enjoy a wholesome, home-cooked meal prepared just for you.
· Games and Fun: Relax with board games, share laughs, and enjoy good company.
· Friendship and Connection: Meet new people and reconnect with others in a friendly, social environment.
· Expert Advice: Get helpful tips from local organisations on staying safe, managing energy costs, and accessing local support.
Why Join Us?
The Warm Hub isn’t just about escaping the cold—it’s about embracing the warmth of community. Here’s how we’re making a difference:
· Save on Heating Costs: Attending each session could save you nearly £8 on energy and food costs. Over the winter, that adds up to almost £190 in savings!
· Stay Healthy and Active: A warm environment and good nutrition can help prevent winter-related illnesses.
· Feel Connected: Combat loneliness and isolation with lively conversation and shared activities.
When and Where
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8pm at The Home of Wycombe Wanderers – Adams Park Stadium. Sessions run twice weekly from Tuesday 7th Jan to Thursday 27th March.
(Note: On January 28th and March 4th, we’ll meet at Downley Community Centre, School Close, HP13 5TR.)
Whether you want to pop in for a chat or make it a regular part of your winter routine, the Warm Hub is open to all older adults in High Wycombe.
