Childrens Mental Health Week @ Adams Park!

Adams Park was filled with energy, excitement and positivity on Tuesday as Wycombe Wanderers Foundation proudly celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week through the Premier League Primary Stars programme!

More than 70 pupils from two of our partner primary schools spent the day at the home of the Chairboys, taking part in a series of engaging, hands-on workshops designed to promote wellbeing, resilience and connection.

The Happiness Workshops from Social-Ability delivered an interactive and immersive experience using innovative projector technology, encouraging pupils to explore games, emotions, self-belief and positive thinking in a fun and accessible way.

Alongside this, Chiltern Rangers led an environmental session focused on the benefits of connecting with nature. Pupils planted fruit seeds and built bird boxes that will be placed in the nearby nature reserve, leaving a lasting legacy from the day. The activity not only promoted teamwork and creativity but also highlighted the powerful link between outdoor activity and positive mental health.

The day was made even more memorable with special visits from Wycombe Wanderers first-team players Luke Leahy, Josh Scowen and Dan Harvie. The trio took part in a Q&A session, sharing reflections on handling pressure, staying motivated and looking after their own wellbeing in professional football. Pupils also had the chance to challenge the players in a fun virtual keepy-uppy competition — an experience that brought plenty of laughter and unforgettable moments.

Children’s Mental Health Week provides a vital opportunity to open conversations, build confidence and remind young people that they are not alone. Events like this demonstrate the power of football to go far beyond the pitch — creating safe spaces, inspiring positive habits and strengthening community connections.

A fantastic day that truly showcased how the Premier League Primary Stars programme continues to support wellbeing, learning and personal development across our local schools.
