Bump & Beyond

Bump and Beyond sessions are designed to empower women to stay active during pregnancy and after birth with elements of how to exercise with your baby as they grow. 
 
We have two sessions on a Thursday starting on the 22nd August 2024 until 13th February 2025 (no session on the 26th December):
9:30-10:30 – pre natal (pregnant mums) 

10:30-11:30 – post natal exercise with baby (in arms)

What will the sessions look like?
There will be a maximum of 12 participants in each session, we will have equipment, however, if you would feel more comfortable to bring your own mat please feel free. We’ll start with a gentle warm up and then work through appropriate exercises:

 

Pre -natal 

· Pilates exercises to keep your core strong and supporting you and your growing bump

· Circuit-based workouts so you can work at your pace aimed at keeping you comfortable and strong during your pregnancy.

· Cooldown and stretch
 
Post natal

·        Pilates exercises to regain your body awareness and strength post delivery. Helping you   reconnect with your core post delivery and care for your back
·        Working with baby we’ll complete strengthening exercises to improve your confidence to do exercises at home
Cooldown and stretch to address areas worked and any aches and pains
 
What can I expect from the venue?
We will be hosting the sessions at Wycombe Air Park, which is near High Wycombe Household Recycling Centre. There is ample parking on site, as you drive into the airpark it is the first turning on the right (through two big bushes). The venue itself has space for buggies inside, however the car park is very close, if you are able to come in without a buggy it would help space but if it’s needed your pram will be welcomed. 
There isn’t an official baby change toilet however babies are able to be changed in the kitchen area (we will ensure this is cleaned down before and after our session), or within the exercise room.
 
Session Cost?
Each session is £4, however as numbers are limited we will ask you to block book 5 sessions in advance to confirm your space you can do this at any time. 
If you are in receipt of benefits we are able to offer free spaces and support with travel so please contact sam.white@wwfc.com so we can arrange this for you.
 
Please note Pre Natal: exercise during pregnancy has many physical and mental health benefits and is generally safe for most women. However knowing whether it is safe for you personally, might worry you, if it does please refer to the Active Pregnancy Foundation to take part in their Get Active Questionnaire for Pregnancy. 
 
Please note Post Natal : every birth is very different and your body will need time to rest and recover afterwards, please refer to the Active Pregnancy Foundation website for more information
