The Lightbulb Café is a dementia-friendly initiative hosted by the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, created for people living with dementia to attend alongside their carer.
It offers a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where individuals in the early to mid-stages of dementia and their carers can spend quality time together, build support networks, and enjoy reminiscence activities and light physical exercises that promote overall well-being.
Sessions are held monthly at Monty’s Lounge, Adams Park Stadium, using Wycombe Wanderers’ memorabilia and memory boxes from Wycombe Library to stimulate the senses and encourage meaningful conversation.
The café focuses on shared experiences that support social connection and engagement for both the person living with dementia and their carer.
Activities include memory stimulation sessions, gentle chair-based exercises, arts and crafts, games, singing, and group discussions.
These activities are designed to enhance mobility, boost mood, encourage self-expression, and strengthen the bond between attendees, while also providing carers with the opportunity to connect with others who understand their experiences.
The Lightbulb Café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Monty’s Lounge, Adams Park Stadium.
Whether you are living with dementia or caring for a loved one, you are warmly invited to join us for a positive and supportive experience.
