Wycombe Wanderers Foundation (WWF) is delighted to announce a landmark partnership with the Wycombe Wanderers Women (WWW), solidifying their commitment to community development and women’s football in High Wycombe.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the journey for both organizations, as we combine our expertise and resources to create new opportunities for women & girls in football and community engagement initiatives.
The partnership aims to enhance access to facilities, coaching and development programmes via the Foundation for women & girls across High Wycombe & Buckinghamshire. By aligning our shared goals and resources, WWW and WWF seek to empower women & girls by fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and excellence both on and off the pitch.
Mark Gaitskell, CEO of Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “Joining forces with WWW represents a significant milestone for both the club and the Foundation. Together, we are committed to breaking down barriers and creating pathways for women and girls to thrive in football and beyond. This relationship solidifies our pathway, from first kick to first team, for women and girls in High Wycombe and we look forward to seeing the impact this goes on to have in our community”
Carl Simon, First Team Manager of Wycombe Wanderers Women, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the shared values and goals of the partnership. “This partnership with the Foundation marks an exciting development and a significant step forward for women’s football at Wycombe Wanderers, cementing the club’s long-term prospects. It also paves a clear pathway for girls aspiring to play football at any level, including those with ambitions of reaching the highest levels of the game. Congratulations to Nigel Kingston, Tony Hector and Mark Gaitskell for their dedication in completing this partnership and I look forward to working with Mark, Nick, and Kirk to enhance our efforts in promoting and advancing women’s football at Wycombe Wanderers.”
Nigel Kingston, Wycombe Wanderers Women Chair, who has been instrumental in the growth of women’s football on behalf of WWFC, added “We have over the past few years taken Wycombe Wanderers Women a long way forward, building an inclusive setup and providing the teams with a successful platform alongside a professional League One Club. The collaboration with the Foundation from next season will enable us to take the programme to the next level and provide a pathway from 7 years upwards to the WWW first team. I am sure it will lead WWW into the higher tiers of Women’s football.”
