It is with great sadness that Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust (WWSET) are saying farewell to our Senior Delivery Officer Clare Bassett who has now taken up a role as an Equality Diversity Inclusion Coach (EDI) at Reading Community Trust.
Clare has been involved in a variety of WWSET’s programmes across all of our departments and has helped participants grow in confidence but also helped for their future, these programmes included: Premier League Kicks, Walking Football, FIT Chairboys and much more across our Health and Wellbeing, Sports Participation and Education departments. She has proven herself to be a reliable and flexible member of our team.
She has also shown personality within this role which has seen her engage superbly with both fellow coaches and participants to help develop a great working relationship with everyone she’s worked with.
Andrew Homent our Activity Programmes Manager said of his time working with Clare: ” Clare has been a tremendous person to work with, she was an excellent team player and was able to show her expertise across multiple departments such as our Activity Programme, Premeir League Programmes & Health Programmes. She has a great passion for football and she made a huge impact in providing more opportunities to under represented groups, where opportunities to engage have historically been more difficult. She will be missed by all of the team at WWSET and we wish her well in her new role at Reading Community Trust.
A keen cyclist, Clare takes a passion for sport and fitness with her to Reading. Her joyful character, sunny disposition and amazing sense of humour will be all missed around WWSET Towers, and she will be welcomed back with open arms at any time.
Digital Marketing Apprentice, Jack Fowler noted Clare’s impact on the charity: “Clare has been a brilliant colleague, she was always there to help everyone. Everything she did for WWSET she put 100% into, I know that she has made a big difference to WWSET but also in our local community, I wish her all the best in her next role and I know she’ll be a great asset to any team”.
Clare’s Premier League Kicks commitments will be take over by new WWSET Head of Inclusion and Cohesion, Luke Godfrey, who joined us last month and will aim to continue Clare’s excellent work.
